William "Bill" Hedley Wade, 81, passed away Sept. 13, 2010, at Rose Estates. A service with Eucharist will be held at St. Michaels and All Angels Episcopal Church, Mission KS, at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, 2010. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Michaels and All Angels Youth Group.
Bill was born Feb. 22, 1929, in St. Paul, MN. He was married Sept. 19, 1954, to Catherine Ann Crandall. He served in the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Minnesota and worked in the grain industry in Portland, Oregon and Kansas City for 30 years. Throughout his life, Bill loved to travel (famously taking his family on a trip across Kansas), study history, read, and extensively researched his family's genealogy culminating in a trip to England to visit family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and wife.
Survivors include his son William (Tiffany) Wade, daughters Mary Wade, Barbara (Kevin) McCormick, Liz (Lance) Fahy, grandchildren Tyler Wade, Joseph Wade, Kara McCormick, Trajan McCormick, Kinsey McCormick, Sommer Fahy, Arlo Fahy, Lucy Fahy, and numerous nieces and nephews across the country.
We will miss "D.O.D" greatly, but are comforted in knowing he and Mom have been reunited, after 26 years of being apart, in Heaven.
