W. Robert Sink passed away in his home, surrounded by his family on December 26th, 2006. He was born on May 13th, 1922 in Topeka Kansas, to Louella Grace and Ralph J. Sink. Bob had an early career as a professional actor and singer. Among other roles, he played Lieutenant Joe Cable in the New York travelling company of "South Pacific." During this time he met and married V. Jean Douthat, also a professional singer. They were married at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral on October 6th, 1950, and decided to make Kansas City their home. Bob worked for a number of years as a television director for Channel 5, and was the advertising manager for the Locke Stove Company until his retirement. His avocation was landscape painting, and he never lost his love for the Kansas Flint Hills. He is survived by his wife Jean, his brother R. Jack Sink of Colorado, his children Kevin R. Sink, Lisa Whitlow, and Gina Harrison; his grandchildren Karen Toerne and Kevin Toerne, Stefan and Annika Sink, and Abigail Harrison; and his great grandaughter Kyla Toerne. Funeral services will be at Grace and Holy Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 13th and Broadway, Kansas City, MO on December 29th at 1:00 p.m. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Nelson Art Gallery.
