William Joseph Sheeley, age 81, of Lenexa, KS died on Thursday, October 30, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 4th at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, KS 66212. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M. Monday, November 3rd at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS with rosary recitation at 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice Advantage, 800 E. 101st Terrace, Ste. 230, Kansas City, MO 64131.
William was born August 27, 1927 in Kansas City, MO. He was a member of Mensa. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, traveling and photography. William spent his adult life as a tire adjuster for the General Tire and Rubber Company. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Michael Sheeley, Sr.; his mother, Mary Theresa Sheeley; and his brother, Robert Michael Sheeley, Jr. William leaves behind his wife, Marcia Louise Spooner Sheeley of Lenexa, KS, three stepchildren and his sister, Florine Sheeley (Farrol) Dickerson, formerly of Overland Park, KS, and 11 nieces and nephews.
