WILLIAM "BILL" RUDOLPH
Bill Rudolph, 87, of Overland Park, passed away October 8, 2011. Visitation will be held Thursday October 13th 6-8 p.m. with rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X, Friday October 14th at 10:00 a.m.; entombment at Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors. He was born August 9, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri to Frank and Johanna Scannell Rudolph. Bill graduated from St. Gregory's High school in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 1941 and attended Rockhurst College. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII 11th Airborne where he earned numerous medals. On June 10, 1953 he married Lorraine McCurry. Bill retired from the U.S.P.O after 30 years. He had fun as a member of the St. Patrick's Day parade also taking on "Office Girl" for the parade office. He served these positions for 25 years. He also held part time jobs with the KC Auto Auction, Enterprise Car Rental and Kelly Service before retiring from everything in 1999. Survivors include his wife of 58 years Lorraine Rudolph; sister Peggy Crowley; 5 children, Dennis (Beth), Frank (Connie), Theresa Lemos (Tony) Daniel, Herbert (Grace); 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145 or St. Gregory's Abbey 1900 W. Mac Arthur Dr. Shawnee, OK 74804.
