Bud was born August 20, 1950 in Kansas City, MO, to parents William and Eileen Hannan. He attended Guardian Angels School and graduated from Rockhurst High School, Class of 1968. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from MU. He began rehabbing small properties in Kansas City but spent the majority of his career as a construction project manager for large condominiums and resorts in Sun Valley, ID and Santa Barbara, CA. After retirement, he continued to use his talents at the homes of his beloved family members. Buddy was a devoted father who passed on his knowledge and love through coaching and involvement with his children’s activities. An adventurous spirit, Buddy was an avid runner. He loved to play tennis, and it was said that his forehand on the tennis court could only be matched by that of Roger Federer. A man of few words, he had the uncanny ability to sort through the mundane and utter profound wisdom.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by: his High School sweetheart and wife of 41 years, Kitty; a son, Michael and wife his wife, Vanessa; a daughter, Elizabeth; granddaughter, Mollie, his BFF; brother, John Hannan; 4 sisters, Sherry Ortiz, Kathy Belanger, Mary Schanzer, and Shell Price; nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
