William, J. Deeds, 71, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 9150 Pflumm Rd., Lenexa, KS, with a visitation prior from 9-10 a.m. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Bill was born is Kansas City, MO to John W. and Rose Deeds. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1957. Bill graduated from Findley Engineering College with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Bill was introduced to Mary Frances Shepherd by Father Pelecki and later married her on July 29, 1961. He worked for the FAA for many years and retired in 2010. Bill was a Army veteran, a member of the S.A.R., a former member and officer with the Knights of Columbus, and loved to fish and hunt or anything that involved the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his two sons; brother, John Deeds; brother Jerry Shepherd; in laws Gene and Frances Shepherd, and brother-in-law, Al Lea. Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary S. Deeds; two children: Steve (DiAnne) Deeds, and Christine Deeds; two grandchildren: Rachel and Matthew Deeds; a sister-in-law, Mary H. Deeds and her two children, Mike and Theresa; sisters Julie (Phillip) Salley; Kathleen (Jim) Milam; Patricia Lea; brothers Richard Shepherd and Raymond (June) Shepherd. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
