William (Bill Richardson

William C. (Bill) Richardson, 80, of Prairie Village, KS passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008 at Kansas City Hospice House. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, February 4th at the Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Lakemary Center, 100 Lakemary Drive, Paola, KS 66071 attn: Marilyn Barber.

Bill was born on September 23, 1927 in Hutchinson, KS to James M. and Helen M. (Clevenger) Richardson. In 1945 he graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City and from KU in 1949 with a Bachelor?s Degree in Journalism. Bill was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He retired from Hallmark Cards after 30 years, where he was involved in product development, production and management. He loved to travel the world and go on cruises with his wife. Bill also loved music, photography and spending time with his family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Corlett Richardson and his brother, James Richardson. He is survived by brother, Lynn Richardson, wife Diana, Solvang, CA; stepmother, Beverly Richardson, Santa Barbara, CA; son, Dave Richardson, wife Jeannie, Overland Park, KS; 3 daughters; Carol Adams, husband Mike, Gunnison, CO; Patti Alford, husband Myron, Leavenworth, KS; Janet Richardson, Olathe, KS; six grandchildren, Corey Richardson, Jersey City, NJ; Shannon Davies, husband Zach, Olathe, KS; Erin Knighton husband Bret, KCMO; Jay and Will Adams, Gunnison, CO; Lucas Sadler, Leavenworth, KS.
