Wendall Hughes

Wendall B. Hughes, 79, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, at 1:00 P.M., at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be Monday, April 9, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the chapel. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Wendall served in the US Navy during WWII and Korean War. He was an active member for 10 years in the US Coast Auxiliary. Wendall was employed in the field as a Civil-Structural Engineer which led him to power plants, but his passion always remained in bridge designing and construction. He is survived by wife, Marilyn; daughter, Shirley; son, Glen; grandchildren, Carly, Garret, Matthew, Ashleigh and Hannah. He will be greatly missed and leaves us with many great memories.
