Vivian Lenore Foley Egan, 85, of Overland Park, KS died on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 4, 1923, in northern Platte County, Missouri, the daughter of Earl and Lilliewood Foley. Her childhood years were spent in Weston, Missouri and later attended Northwest Missouri Teachers College. She was married to Edward J. Egan in 1951, and it was their privilege to share 55 years together.
Before marrying, she was employed at the Fairfax bomber plant, where she was an administrative assistant. Later she worked at the Foley Insurance Agency in Weston. She had been a resident of Johnson County since 1954. Vivian was a devoted wife and mother and was a friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006. She is survived by her children, Patrick Egan (Cathy), Kansas City, MO, and Catherine Harrison (William), Plano, TX; and granddaughter, Stephanie Wilcox (Ryan), Dallas, TX.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. on Friday, October 31st at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Interment following at Mt. Bethel Cemetery, Weston, MO. Visitation will be 6:30-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 30th at the chapel.
