Violet S. Larson, 92, of Lenexa, KS, passed away August 9, 2009. Family graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Osage City, KS cemetery.
Violet was born September 30, 1916 in Miller, KS, the youngest of five children, to Hannah and Oscar Sutherland. She was raised in Osage City, KS, graduated from high school there and, after finishing an associate's degree at the Topeka Business School, married her high school sweetheart Jean B. Larson. The couple raised their three children in Blackwell, OK and later in Tulsa. Violet was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Churches in both Blackwell and Tulsa, and Knox Presbyterian Church in Overland Park, KS until her death.
Violet is survived by her children Joan Ryan of New York, NY, Becky Hays of Fairway, KS, Gregg Larson of Rockford, IL, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
