Victor William Young, 94, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2012. A Mass will be said 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cure' of Ars Catholic Church with a visitation prior from 9-10 a.m.; burial in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Assn.
Vic was born in Turlock, CA. He graduated from U.C. Berkley in 1942. Vic was a Navy veteran of WWII. He moved to the Kansas City area in 1956. Vic was the former Vice-President of Cutter Laboratories, Berkley, CA and later became the President of Haver-Lockhart Laboratories, Shawnee, KS. He retired as the Senior Vice-President of Bayer Animal Health of Shawnee. Vic was the past President of the Kansas City Chapter of Budget Executives Institute (1965-1966) and the past President of Shawnee Chamber of Commerce (1971). He was a member of Cure of Ars Catholic Church. Vic was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Geraldine Young. Survivors include three daughters: Patty (Dale) Dickinson, Susan (Tom) Ziegler, Nancy (Dennis) Keller; a brother Edmund R. Young of CA; and six grandchildren: Anne and Neal Dickinson, Diane Murphy and Brian Ziegler, Michael and Stacy Keller.
The family would like to thank the staff of Clare Bridge of Leawood, and the staff of Odyssey Hospice for their devotion and care of Victor in his final years.
