Vamntawv "Paper" Vang

Vamntawv “Paper” Vang, 37, of Kansas City, KS died April 18, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

Paper was born August 9, 1984, in Denver, CO to Lee and Chue (Yang) Vang.

In 2000, along with his family, Paper moved to Kansas City. In 2002, Paper graduated from Washington High School. Upon completion of high school, Paper attended some college at KCK Community College but found himself more comfortable joining the workforce. For the past 10 years, he enjoyed success as a Sr. Policy Admin Representative for Americo Services, located in downtown Kansas City, MO.

His favorite things to do were fishing, trying new restaurants, and poker nights. Among the things that brought him joy were football, K-Pop (specifically BTS and Blackpink), binge-watching the latest new hot TV show, being with his friends and family, and above all else, taking care of people and helping those who needed his help. He had also recently found a renewed love for Jesus Christ and the words and gospel of the Holy Bible.

Paper’s generosity and willingness to help those he cared about was limitless. Though he often gave off a rough and tough exterior, he was really everyone’s “teddy bear.” Because of his boundless love and energy, Paper made friends easily and found himself being easily accepted and loved by several extended families. He was a hard shell to crack, but easy to love and he lived every moment of his life to bring joy and comfort to everyone around him.

He is survived by his father, Lee, his mother, Chue, his brother, Koobmeej, and his sister, Maivxis.

Services for our beloved Paper will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66204 from 7:00 AM - 12:00 AM. He will then be laid to rest on Monday, May 23, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, N. 126th Street and Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, KS 66109.
