Theresa was born May 21, 1926 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Bernard J. and Mary Jane Bull Maasen. She grew up in Kansas City and attended St. Elizabeth?s Grade School and graduated from Ruhl Hartman High School.
She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Sunshine Club at the church and served as an Oblate for the Ursuline Sisters. Theresa enjoyed golf and played in the women?s leagues at the Overland Park and St. Andrew?s Golf Courses. She was a woman of great faith, a consummate advocate for the underdog and especially loved her garden.
She married Sid E. Bordman on February 3, 1951 at St. Vincent?s Catholic Church in Kansas City, MO. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage, during which time Sid served as a staff member of the sports department of the Kansas City Star from 1954 to 1988. Sid survives. Other survivors include two sons, Stephen S. Bordman and Ted J. Bordman and his companion Rhonda Weaver; two daughters, Janice E. Biggs and husband Pete and Barbara J. Helm and husband Ron; four grandchildren, Bobby O?Connor, Catie Biggs, Kelly O?Connor and Maggie Helm; and two sisters, Loretta Payne and Ginger Thompson; and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings, Marcelline Houston, Helen O?Roark, Mary Baker, Ann Tobler, Ruth Glennon, Frank Maasen, John Maasen and Patrick Maasen.
