Thelma Belle Fleming, 93, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2009. Memorial Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009 at the D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Nazarene Compassionate Ministry, 12351 W. 96th Terrace Suite 100. Lenexa, KS 66220. Thelma was born February 14, 1916 to Burley and Nellie Crandell in Pingree, ND. She attended elementary school in North Dakota and graduated from high school in Ellendale, ND. Thelma graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in 1945. She taught school in North Dakota and Missouri for 29 years in total. Thelma later worked at The Nazarene Publishing House in Kansas City, MO. She was married to Everett Craighead; he preceded her in death in 1987. She later married Mervin Fleming in 1992; Marvin preceded her in death in 2005. Thelma had consuming hobbies, one was music- she tried 5 different instruments and various collections which overwhelmed her. Survivors include a daughter, Lois (Craighead) Robison, a son, Ray Dean Craighead, one foster son, James Craighead: 5 grandchildren, Merrick Robison, Emily, Raleigh and Ethan Craighead, and Katie Ellebrecht.
