THADDEUS “TED” KORGOL
Thaddeus "Ted" Korgol peacefully fell into eternal sleep in the early hours of June 15, 2011. Memorial services will be held 6:30 p.m. Saturday June 18 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS, with visitation at 5:00 p.m.
A Boston native, Ted, born to Thaddeus and Teresa Korgol, Sept. 19, 1943, was a devoted family man who loved nothing more than singing and drumming with his band and the occasional fishing trip with family and friends. He proudly served in the US Army, found his passion working with handicapped children in the Topeka School District for over 20 years, and has been a dedicated and valued employee of Children’s Mercy Hospital for the past 16 years. Ted was blessed with his devoted wife, Nancy, of 23 years who loved and cared for him like only she could. He will be missed by many, including his children: Randy (Lacy), Teddy (Becky), and James Korgol, step-children, Brett and Melissa Newkirk, one sister, Susan Korgol, 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many, many friends, and extended family. Services will be held Saturday, June 18th, at DW Newcomer’s Sons, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS; visitation at 5:00 with services following at 6:30. Contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage, 6340 Glenwood, Ste 109, Overland Park, KS 66202.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Kathy Chartrand, Dr. Stephen Smalley, Dr. Joseph Myers, Megan Given, Kirsten Parker and the staff of Hospice Advantage for their excellent care, as well as the many family and friends who have been so supportive and caring during Ted’s illness.
Gone from sight, but forever in our hearts....
