Teresa (Teddy) Comley Hamilton, 90, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 after a long illness. Teresa (Teddy) is survived by her husband, G. Kenneth Hamilton Jr.; two sons, Ken Hamilton III and his wife LaVonda, William Hamilton and his wife Virginia; a granddaughter, Dana Newsom and her husband Dan; a great grandson, Logan Newsom; a sister, Lucille Dotson of Wichita; and several nieces and nephews. Teresa was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Charles Albert Comley and Teresa Lassen Comley. She graduated from Wichita High School East. She attended Holmby Junior College in Los Angeles, California, and the University of Kansas. Teresa was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She was also a member of the Junior League of Wichita. In 1942 she was married to G. Kenneth Hamilton Jr. who was in the air force and stationed in the training command at Perrin Field, Sherman Texas. After the war they made their home in Wichita, Kansas, where their two sons were born. They moved to Kansas City in 1953 after 18 months in McPherson, Kansas. Teresa was a hospital volunteer at St. Luke's for several years. She was an avid golfer at Indian Hills Country Club. A private service will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where she had been a member since 1968. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church or to a charity of choice.
