Sylvia Ann (Hannaford) Smith, 71, of Kansas City, KS passed from this life Thursday, October 9, 2008 while living at the Golden Living Parkway, Edwardsville, KS. Memorial services will be 6 PM, Friday, October 24 at Cornerstone Assembly Church, Tonganoxie, KS. Graveside services will be 2 PM, Saturday, October 25 in Gove County Cemetery, Gove, KS.
Sylvia was born on January 15, 1937 to Walter and Doris (Boss) Hannaford in Grinnell, KS. Her greatest joy was time with her family. She worked as a nursing assistant and medication aide for many years. She loved her pets, plants and people.Survivors include husband, Walton Smith, Kansas City, KS; sister, Izene Smoyer and husband, Monte, Schnecksville, PA; three children, Karla Jamison and husband, John, Clearview City, KS, Daryl Remington and wife, Cheryl, Gove, KS, Stan Remington, Palco, KS; 11 grandchildren and 6 of their spouses; 17 great grandchildren. The family requests memorial donations in her memory may be sent to Aseracare Hospice/Golden Living Parkway for their Hospice room or to the Sylvia Smith Cancer Assistance Fund through Cancer Action.
