Susan Grousnick

Susan Elizabeth Grousnick was born September 14, 1946 in Engelwood, Colorado. When she was 7 years old her family moved to Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Southwest High School where she was active in the music program. For college, she attended Central Missouri State. After being trained and educated as a licensed optician, Susan opened Peepers Optician Inc. Here she enjoyed helping people find the right shaped frames not only to compliment their features but also to fit their personality. Thanks to dedicated customers, Peppers Optical recently celebrated 32 years of service in the same location. Susan was the recipient of many awards. She was greatly loved by family and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mildred Grousnick. Susan is survived by 3 sisters, Carol Loesch (Cedar Rapids, IA) Sandra Krause (Hubbard Lake, MI) Deborah Austin (Prairie Village, KS) and one brother David Grousnick (Artesia, NM), one Uncle Russell Mueller (Denver, CO) and a large extended family. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 4, 2010 at 3:00p.m. at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66204. Memorials may be sent to Lions Club International. As a tribute to Susan, guests of the service may bring cut flowers to honor her love of flowers.
