Steve Chris Kehayias, 55, of Merriam, Kansas died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center from complications due to cancer and pneumonia. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 8th at St. Dionysios Greek Orthodox Church, 8100 W. 95th Street, Overland Park, KS. Burial follows at 1:00 P.M. in Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Trisaigon service at 6:00 P.M. Sunday, October 7 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Memorial contributions may be made to Steve Kehayias Burial Fund or St. Dionysios Memorial Fund.
Steve was born on December 19, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas. He worked in the food and restaurant business until his illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Chris S. Kehayias and both sets of grandparents and step-grandfather.
He is survived by his mother Dorothy Kehayias; brothers, Bill and James; sister, Mary; five children, Angela, Chris, Stephanie, Staci and his ?best buddie,? Stevie; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends and his dog, Gizmo. A special thanks from the family, to Cancer Action and the nurses at SMMC.
