Stanley Lois Keckler, 72, of Overland Park, Ks. passed away at 8:45 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008, at the Kansas City Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, October 9th at Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W. 95th St., Overland Park, Ks. Graveside services and burial will be at 3:30 P.M. Thursday in Greenwood Cemetery, Council Grove, Ks. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 8th at the D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, Ks. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care, 9221 Ward Pkwy, Ste. # 100, Kansas City, MO 64114.
She was born May 1, 1936, in Kansas City, Ks. the daughter of the late Gerald and Jean Peterson. She was united in marriage to Bernard Keckler on December 26, 1955, in Council Grove, Ks. and he preceded her in death January 24, 1996. Stan worked at the Fleming Companies for 32 years in Topeka and Overland Park, Ks. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Overland Park, Ks. She is survived by one daughter, Karen Bothwell and her husband Greg of Topeka, Ks.; two sons: Kevin Keckler and his wife Donna of Sierra Vista, Az., and Douglas Keckler and his wife Tammy of Independence, Mo.; 7 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
