SHARON LEE ANDERSON
Sharon Lee Anderson, 73, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011. Funeral services will be Noon Saturday, October 29, 2011 with a visitation prior from 10-11:30 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 21515 W. 101st Street, Lenexa, KS; burial in Old Monticello Cemetery.
Sharon was born May 29, 1938 in Byron, WY, to Harry and Rebecca Miller. She spent her early childhood in Thermopolis, WY, and later moved to Pomona, KS, with her family. She attended Emporia State Teacher's College before transferring to Washburn University in Topeka, KS, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Sharon met Chuck in Topeka, KS, and they were married March 1, 1959. She taught 1st grade at Noble Prentiss in the KCK Public School District for 25 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Quivira Crossings Chapter of the DAR, and loved doing genealogy research.
Sharon was preceded in death by her son, William Charles Anderson. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Chuck Anderson; daughter, Rebecca Lynn (Thomas) McLeod; 2 brothers, Gene and Norman Miller; and sister, Betty Johnson; 4 grandchildren, Neil and his wife Danielle, Samuel, Abby, and Sherry McLeod; one great grandson, Enoch McLeod.
