SEVERINE F. (KOCH) BUCKLEY
Sev, as she was known to her close friends, joined her savior on April 15th 2011. She lived
eighty-eight years, loving and caring for her family, church and close
friends. Sev was born on August 26, 1922 in Ashland. Pennsylvania. She spent her childhood
years in Frackville, Pennsylvania and graduated from high school there in 1939. Sev completed
a business program in 1940 and used her acquired skills at Indian Town Gap,
Pennsylvania. She accompanied her husband, Raymond Buckley, to the Kansas City area
following his discharge from the US Army after WWII. Sev and Ray were happily married for
sixty-seven years. Sev retired from Sears after twenty years as an Executive Secretary.
She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church where their children, David L.
Buckley (Overland Park, Kansas) and Carolann Gregoire (Columbus, Ohio), were baptized. Sev
Was active over the years at Trinity and was in the ministry of Hannah
Circle.
She will always be remembered by her family and friends for her unselfish love and
faithful devotion to her calling as wife and mother. To her, always, those who were dear to her
came first. Sev was quick to turn to her Lord when in need and found consolation in her favorite
Christian hymn, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."
Sev was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Charles Koch, and brothers Fred
and Charles Koch. She is survived by her husband, children, son-in-law, Tom Gregoire
(Columbus. Ohio), daughter-in-law , Jan Buckley (Overland Park, Kansas), grandchildren, Tahlia
Buckley (Grandview, MO), Nick Buckley (Overland Park, Kansas),Tracy Dammrich
(Olathe, KS}, Nathan Miller(Phoenix, AZ), Paul Steinberg (Alexandria, Virginia) and Eric
Gregoire (Cincinnati, Ohio), great grandchildren, Cooper & Brock Dammrich and goddaughter,
Sandi Koch (Huntsville, Alabama). She also leaves behind her dear friends, Lois and Bill
Kinnaw and Bev Brown, lifelong area residents.
The family wishes to thank Pastor Roland and Delores Boehnke, Hannah Circle, friends
Lois, BiII and Bev and the staff of Garden Terrace for their prayers and support of Sev and her
Family. Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5601 W. 62nd, Mission, KS, on April 19,2011 at
I2:00p.m. Services at 1:30 p.m. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens 11200 Metcalf .
