Satish C. Bansal, M.D., 69, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2008, at St. Luke?s Hospital after a brief illness. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 21st from 2-5:00 P.M. with a Time of Remembrance at 4:00 P.M. at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Saint Luke?s Hospital Foundation, Heart Transplant Unit, c/o Ms. Dorothy Kovar, 4225 Baltimore Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64111.
Born in India on November 9, 1938, Satish became an orthopedic surgeon and spent most of his life caring for his patients. Among his many interests, Satish enjoyed gardening and took great pleasure in his roses and other exotic plants, which were admired by his friends and neighbors. Satish will be remembered as a loving, humble, intelligent man who gracefully touched the lives of so many people. Satish leaves his beloved wife, Dr. Roopa Bansal, Leawood, Kansas; his sister and brother of India, as well as his nieces and nephews, and his Shelties, Lancelot and Sterling.
