Sarah Chapman

Sarah Jane (Trapp) Chapman, Overland Park, KS; passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Sallie was born in Kansas City, daughter of Carl and Edith Trapp. She was preceded in death by infant son, Daniel Carl Chapman and husband Charles H. (Bud ) Chapman. She grew up in Kansas City, attending Southwest High School then on to Lindenwood College. Living and raising their three children in Dallas, the family returned to Kansas City. Sallie was a member of the Overland Park Church of Christ and was active in her church's Pantry and Benevolence program as well as the CCO (Christian Care Outreach). Sallie spent much of her time visiting and staying in contact and helping her friends and others in need. Active in Wives of Rotarians and the Rotary Youth Camp, she was involved in many community activities with Bud in the family business. Living summers at the Lake of the Ozarks was a source of enjoyment for her, family and many invited friends and extended family. Sallie especially enjoyed playing tennis, even until recently. Sallie brightened lives with her wit, enthusiasm and generosity. She was a force. Her friends came from all walks of life and all ages. She, of course, adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sallie leaves her three children, Jack Chapman and his wife Suzy of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Joseph C. Chapman and S. Shannon Chapman, Las Vegas, Nevada. Grandchildren include Drake Chapman and son Tanner, Brian and Blaire Chapman and daughters Jordyn and Avery, all of Seabrook, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1:00 and Service at 2:00. D.W Newcomer's, 112th and Metcalf Tuesday Nov. 30. Burial will be at the Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to Christian Family Services at 10500 Barkley, Ste. 216, Overland Park, KS 66212-9824.
