Sally Jean Reilly

Sally Jean (Brady) Reilly, 81, Prairie Village, Kan., passed away peacefully Oct. 9, 2009. She was born Feb. 13, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo., to James Leo and Evelyn C. (Mounts) Brady.

Sally graduated from Bishop Hogan High School, Kansas City, Mo. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Mary College (now University of Saint Mary), Leavenworth, Kan. She married Robert D. (Bob) Reilly on May 13, 1950. He died July 1, 1984. Her parents, stepfather Bob Henderson and infant grandson also preceded her in death.

She was a founding member of Bishop Miege High School Mothers’ Club, an officer of St. Ann Elementary School, and a 52-year member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Prairie Village. She enjoyed painting and traveled in the U.S. and abroad with family members and friends.

She is survived by sons Mike (Becky), Overland Park; Tim (Kathy), Olathe; Terry (Mary), Overland Park; Sean (Judi), Overland Park; and daughters Jeannie (Dave) Richardson, Overland Park; Susan (Thomas) Walston, Westerville, Ohio; Lucy (David) Fitch, Potomac, Md.; 17 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral mass is 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, St. Ann Catholic Church, 7241 Mission Rd.; burial at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, to follow. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park. In lieu of flowers, Sally requested donations to KC Hospice, Bishop Miege High School, St. Ann Church or University of St. Mary.
