Ruth I. Stoffer, 95, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Grandview, MO; burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the D.W. Newcomer's Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. The family suggests contributions to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or VITAS Hospice.
Ruth was born May 1, 1914 in Kansas City, MO and raised by her adoptive parents, Millis and Laura Easterday. She attended Trinity Lutheran Grade School in Atchison, KS and graduated from East High School in Wichita, KS. Ruth was married to Harold Stoffer June 18, 1939 in Kansas City, MO, he preceded her in death. She retired from G.E.H.A. in 1997 and was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Ehlers; 3 sons: Robert, Charles, and Gary Stoffer; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
