Robert Merle Sperry, 56, of Mission Hills, Kansas passed away Friday August 23, 2013 in the home. Memorial Services will be held on Friday August 30, 2013 (reception following at the church), 10:00 A.M. at Cure of Ars Catholic Church located at 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, Kansas. A cremation burial at Resurrection Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Bob was a born July 30, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a life- long resident of the Kansas City area. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School and attended the University of Kansas. Though retired, Bob's career endeavors included President of CDS and Vice President of Operations for the McPike Wholesale Drug Company. He was a member of the Indian Hills Country Club and NRA. Bob had a variety of interests which included being an avid reader, cars, investments, collectibles and most important his relationships with life-long friends. One of his proudest accomplishments was being designated an honorary alumnus of the UMKC School of Pharmacy in recognition of his support and commitment to the school and the pharmaceutical profession.
He is preceded in death by his father, M.C. Sperry and will be dearly missed by his mother, Ruth Sperry, Doris Carlston (aunt), cousins, his many friends and life partner, Dr. Debbi Leialoha.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Pharmacy.
