Robert Mitchell

Robert Joseph Mitchell, 83, of Overland Park, KS died July 28, 2009 at Stratford Commons in Overland Park, KS. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Fieth Mitchell, after 42 years of marriage. He was a native of Springfield, MO. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was retired from Safeway Stores Inc where he worked for over 40 years. Survivors include a sister, Martha Alexander Springfield, MO, daughter and son in law, Debra Ann and Steven Bryer of Overland Park, KS, a son and daughter in law, Edward Joseph and Susan Mitchell of Bradenton, FL; five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday 6-8 P.M. at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Graveside service at 2:00 P.M. on July 31, 2009 at Greenlawn North Cemetery Springfield, MO. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the staff of Stratford Commons. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Alzheimer’s Association or Kansas City Hospice. He will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
