Robert Hallifax

Robert (Bob) Jeffrey Hallifax of Shawnee, KS, died on Tuesday October 20, 2009 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center as a result of many complications since an auto accident on May 25, 2009. Bob was born July 26, 1926 at the Washington Sanitarium & Hospital, Tacoma Park, MD. Bob volunteered and served his Country in the Navy during WWII. He joined the Navy 7/25/44 and served in the Sea Bees as a Machinist’s Mate, 3rd Class on the NTC Sampson, NY, NCTC Davisville, RI, 144th Adv Base Construction and the 56th NCB until we won the war. Bob worked in the Adventist Health System most of his life and retired from Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Bob enjoyed the trucking business in the 1970’s for about 10 years. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Gladys. Bob is survived by his son Rob Hallifax, wife Carol, their children and spouses, Julie Burger (Mike), David Baker (Dawn) & John Baker (Katie), and Bob’s daughter Denise Beatty, husband Jay and their daughter Emily. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 1:00 pm at New Haven SDA Church, 8714 Antioch Rd, Overland Park, KS 66212. In lieu of flowers, Bob requested donations be made to Shawnee Mission Med Center Foundation, 9100 W 74th St, Shawnee Mission, KS 66204 or the New Haven SDA Church.
