ROBERT J. CAPPER
Robert J. Capper, 79, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2010. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at the D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Elks National Foundation.
Bob was born in Kansas City, MO and a lifetime area resident. He was an alumnus of Shawnee Mission Rural (North) and graduated from UMKC in 1952. Robert was married to Beverly Hand Capper on November 17 1951. The majority of his life he worked for Pritchard’s and then later for Black & Veatch retiring in 1991. Bob coached and was actively involved with YMCA football and basketball, 8 – 11 and 3 & 2 baseball. He was a 42 year member of the Overland Park Elks Lodge # 2395 and a permanent benefactor of E.N.F. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly H. Capper. Survivors include his children: Robin Moore, Vicki Kelm, and C. James Capper; grandchildren: Lindsay Moore Webdell, Kevin Kelm, Bobby Moore, Lisa Kelm Thinom, Alex Moore, Blaze Capper; and three great grandchildren.
