Robert Ashley

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Robert L. “Bob” Ashley, 63, of Olathe, KS passed away January 19, 2015 at his home. He was born March 31, 1951 to Franklin L. and Velma L. Ashley. He graduated Shawnee Mission- North, Class of 1969 and upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After serving, he came home and joined Owens Corning Fiberglass and retired in 2005 after 35 years. During his life, he always had a passion for traveling with his family via a conversion van and later a Goldwing Tour motorcycle with the love of his life, Susie, together they traveled over 100,000 miles and visited 38 states. This past year, Bob took up a new hobby of gardening and won the tomato growing contest. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Lola “Susie” Ashley; son, Robert F. Ashley; two daughters, Angelique Larkin (Brandon) and Lisa Scott-Grasher (Scott); four grandchildren, Joe, Jordan, Liam and Rory and four siblings, Gwen Nunnally (Ken), Berl Ashley, Cheryl Stallsworth (Rick) and John Ashley. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2pm, Saturday, January 24th, 2015 with visitation at 1pm at Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 82nd and Metcalf Ave. Please offer condolences at www.overlandparkchapel.com
