Rita E. (Pyle) O’Malley of Olathe was born March 7, 1927 in Kansas City, KS. She passed away at the age of 88 on April 23, 2015. Rita was a loving, devoted wife and mother to 5 children. She was a wonderful mother in-law, Grandmother and Aunt. Her family was the light of her life and gave her great joy. She was a devout Catholic. She loved life and enjoyed traveling. Rita was one of 10 children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. O’Malley and her daughter Mary Ellen Black and siblings: Robert Pyle, Marie Jacks, William "Bill" Pyle, Catherine Sullivan and Bernadette Kostelec.
She is survived by her children Tim (Lucy) O’Malley of Olathe, KS; Dennis (Diane) O’Malley of Roeland Park, KS; (Tim) Black of Lenexa, KS; Trish O’Malley (Jim) Brennan of Omeath, Ireland; Erin Mosley and companion (Mark Downing) of Buffalo, IL.; her grandchildren, Kelly Heckert, Ryan O’Malley, Elizabeth O’Malley, Sean O’Malley, Courtney Black, Kyle Black, Margaret Mosley, Charles Mosley, Aine Brennan and Grace Brennan; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Collin, Haley, Caden, Kaleigh and Griffin and siblings, John "Jack" Pyle, Thomas "Tom" Pyle, James "Jim" Pyle and Edward "Ed" Pyle.
Visitation will be held at Overland Park Funeral Chapel at 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM with a Rosary service to begin at 7:00 PM.
Her funeral mass will be Friday, May 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM St. Pius X Catholic Church located at 5500 Woodson Rd Shawnee Mission, KS. The Family invites guest to attend a luncheon following Mass in the church basement, Father Kelly Hall. Burial will follow lunch at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens 13901 Blackbob Rd Olathe, KS at 1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers contributions to Grace Hospice at 9233 Ward Parkway, suite 201 KCMO 64114.
