RICHARD ROBINSON

Richard "Dick" Robinson, 87, Prairie Village, passed away May 28, 2011 at Kingswood Health Center. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 3 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 75th and Nall, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm with the service to follow at 2:00pm.

Dick was born October 6, 1923 in Kansas City, MO. A World War II veteran, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps on his 19th birthday and served in the China, Burma, India Theater as an airfield electrician until his discharge in March of 1946. He was employed by U.S. Gypsum Co. as a shift foreman and retired in 1985 after 39 years.

Dick was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, the Beacon Sunday School Class and past-president of Keenagers.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty; step-son George Pickler (Jan); 3 grandchildren: Lee Jarrell (T.J.); Bryn Brunette (Mike); and Richard Pickler; and 3 great-grandchildren: Emma, Jake and Page Jarrell.

The family wishes to thank Dr. James Maliszewski and his nurse, Margaret, for their long-time compassionate care. Also, to the wonderful staff of KC Hospice, your loving care, support and guidance will always be a special memory.
