RICHARD "DICK" GREENE
Dick Greene, 59, has gone to take that tee time with St. Peter. Dick passed away Thursday, January 20 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Born Richard Davis Greene to Heman Carrolton & Althea Davis Greene on Aug. 12, 1951 in Melrose, MA and attended high school in Burlington, VT. Dick enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the USAF Special Operations Command. He continued his service to others by becoming an E.M.I.C.T. and joined Johnson County Med-Act in 1977. Everyone who knew Dick knew him for his wry wit and, of course, his golf game. Dick was an avid golfer with numerous local tournament wins. When not whipping his buddies on the course, Dick was a contributing writer for Golf Digest Magazine and served as a Marshall at Ironhorse Golf Club. Dick spent time on the board of the A.L.S. Society and was a member of United Methodist Church of Resurrection in Leawood, KS Dick is survived by his longtime partner in love, Regina DeNicola of the home and sisters, Nancy Provencher of Dunnellon, Fl, and Marylin Herbert of Ann Arbor, MI; and his beloved dogs, Ebony and Buddy. A memorial service will be held at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011. The family suggests contributions to the A.L.S. Society or Junior Golf Assoc. of K.C. through Tom Watson Challenge at Blue Hills Country Club.
