Rebecca “Becky” Ann Quinn (Noel) passed away peacefully on January 9, 2020. She was 76.
Becky was born on February 15, 1943 in Tulsa, OK to Jim and Maydine Noel. A proud Shawnee Mission East Lancer (Class of ’61), Becky went on to Oklahoma State University, where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and graduated with a degree in English in 1965.
Becky worked in the surgery department as a secretary at KU Medical Center for decades. She kept busy in the PTA and could regularly be found on the sidelines cheering on the Lady Lancers. All who knew her would agree that Becky’s #1 job was that of mother and grandmother, not just to her own daughter and grandson, but to all who entered her orbit. Her door was always open, her fridge was always stocked with soda, and her heart was always there to listen (usually from her recliner).
We will miss her infectious laugh and Texas cake. Her “loved everyone she meets” spirit has left a void in all of our hearts, but we find comfort knowing that Becky is now with her beloved Anne (Annie, A.Q.). Anne and Ashton were her reason to live.
Becky is preceded in death by her daugher, Anne Noelle Stevens (Quinn). She is survived by her grandson, Ashton Stevens; sister, Linda Mamalis (Noel); nephew, James Mamalis (Hank, Lydia); niece, Emily Phillips (Walker, Nash, Scarlett).
A visitation will take place at Overland Park Chapel, Thursday, January 16, 6:00 to 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Harvesters or ReachOutAndReadKC.org.
