Rachel Ann Holtmann
Rachel Ann Holtmann, 59, of Leawood, KS, died on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was born to Paul and Lucille Meyer on December 3, 1951 in Hannibal, MO. Rachel graduated from Brookfield High School in 1970; thereafter attending Columbia College and graduating from The University of Missouri. Rachel majored in music and elementary education. In 1974, she married John Holtmann from St. Louis, MO.
Rachel taught for several years in the Shawnee Mission School District prior to having children. She then returned to teaching music at her children’s school, Cure’of Ars.
Rachel was a member of Cure of Ars Church and of PEO Chapter GZ. In recent years, she also devoted much of her time and energy to her grandchildren and teaching piano at home. She is survived by her husband, John; mother, Lucille Meyer; daughter, Katherine Cleveland and Katherine’s three children Max, Abby and Lucy. She is also survived by son, Andrew Holtmann; and brother, Jim Meyer.
Rachel will be remembered for her radiant smile, her infectious laugh, and her passionate love of music.

A memorial mass will be held at Cure’ of Ars Church, 9401 Mission Road, Leawood, KS 66206, on Friday, August 5 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cure’ of Ars School.
