A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Friday, April 2, 2010, at Country Club Congregational United Church of Christ at 65th and Brookside, Kansas City, MO.

Born at home on October 18, 1920 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Priscilla was the only daughter of Thomas Arthur and Carrie Mae Sweetland Ireland. She graduated from Stoneham High School and Pierce School, and later attended San Diego State University. In 1945 she married Lt. George F. Moore, who was stationed in Boston with the U.S. Navy. They were married for 58 years before his death in 2004. They began a life of travel, first with the Navy, then with TWA, finally settling down for good in Prairie Village, KS in 1961.

Service and friendship were important to Priscilla. She was Chair of the Board of Trustees and Moderator of Country Club Congregational UCC and President of Chapter AV of P.E.O., among the many organizations she supported. Her book club was also very important to her in later years.
Priscilla’s talent for numbers led her to various positions, both voluntary and paid. Her longest association was 15 years with the City of Prairie Village, where her duties included tracking and investing city funds.

Priscilla was devoted to her family. Her high standards for herself and kindness to others inspired everyone around her.

Cherishing her life are her children, daughter Melinda Wellvang (Steven), Minneapolis and their sons Thomas, Daniel and Michael; son Timothy A.
