Polly Lamb

Pauline "Polly" Custis Lamb, age 76, Overland Park, Kan., passed away June 9, 2010, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Friends may call from 6- 8 p.m. Thursday, June 17, 2010, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66204. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice in memory of Polly. Polly was born August 12, 1933, in Louisville, Ky. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Louisville Kentucky, where she was a Chi Omega. Following this she received her master's degree from the University of Indiana in 1956. She was an associate professor of physical education at Central Methodist College-Missouri. She was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges in 1953- 54. In 1957, she married R. Duane Lamb, and they celebrated 53 years of marriage. Polly spent 20 years of her life working in the advertising industry, followed by 25 years as an office manager at Coffee Plus. Polly was a longtime member and twice president of the Shawnee Mission Pilot Club. She volunteered at the Shawnee Mission Medical Center gift shop and The Top Drawer Donation Center. Survivors include husband, Duane; her three sons, George, Greg, and Gene; a daughter-in-law, Keyna; grandchildren Eric and Stephanie, and sister Betty Wright.
