Phyllis Preisler, of Merriam Kansas, formerly of Shawnee, KS died Nov. 10, 2012 at Trinity Nursing and Rehab at the age of 80.
Phyllis was born on September 22, 1932 in Kearney, Mo, she was the daughter of Eula May and Clive Bowman. Phyllis was a devoted mother and loving wife. She loved bowling, reading, dancing, singing, praying, attending church services and spending time with her grandchildren, and was always helping others as needed. Throughout her life she kept a sweet and simple personality and had such a contagious smile that won everybody's heart. Her gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughing and joking around will never be forgotten. She had the ability of remembering the name of every person she ever met. The Preisler home was a gathering place where family and friends would visit and always felt welcomed.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Fred Preisler of Overland Park, KS, two daughters, Sandra Erickson of Manhattan, KS, Sharon Steffens of Overland Park, KS, four brothers; two granddaughters, one grandson, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov 16, 2012 at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel with a visitation prior from 12-1 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
