Phyllis M. Horsley Meier, 82, peacefully passed on December 19, 2006 while at Kansas City Hospice House. She was a lifelong Kansas resident, devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many. She is survived by her husband, James F. Meier; two sisters, Joyce Steffenson and Joan States; four children, Sheryl Kantrowitz, Charles Horsley, John Horsley, and Mary Matus; their spouses, nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. She was known for her love of family and her perseverance to make life the best it could be.
A memorial celebration service will be 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 22nd at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 21st at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice House, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64114 or the American Heart Association, 5375 S.W. 7th Street, Topeka, KS 66606.
