Patsy R. "Pat" Thomas, 85, of Overland Park, KS, died on August 2, 2012.
Pat was born June 15, 1927 in Kansas City, KS to Harold and Ann Parrott. She graduated Rosedale High School in 1945 and later earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Johnson County Community College. She was a life-long Kansan and area resident and a member of Village United Presbyterian Church. Pat worked at the Fairfax Aviation Plant as a secretary during WWII and continued secretarial and administrative work throughout her life while raising her family. An avid golfer, bridge player and Jayhawk sports fan, Pat also enjoyed cooking, entertaining, dancing, writing, and attending movies, plays and musical events. In addition, she volunteered at her church, at hospitals and clinics, and at the election polls and generously gave her time to tutoring students of all ages. Survivors include her three children, Jay Thomas of Overland Park, Kyle (Bill) Neidt of Centennial, CO, Kim (Bill) Hartman of Shawnee, eight grandchildren, Andrew and Sam Thomas, Lara Thomas Ducey, Lindsey Neidt Baudoin, Chad Neidt, Katie and Maggie Hartman, and Lizzie Hartman Thomas, and one great-grandchild, Emmett Thomas Baudoin. Pat was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jay D. Thomas.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10th, 4-5 PM, with a Celebration of Pat's life to follow at 5:00 PM, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel.
