Nhia Tou Vang, passed away on Thursday, January 9th, 2025, at the age of 74.
He was well respected and loved among the Hmong Community and was known for his leadership, generous spirit, and his passion for his people.
He began his journey to the United States after serving as a U. S. Ally during the Vietnam War where he fought alongside General Vang.
He received his citizenship in the State of California where he started his family. In 2000, he followed his closest brother to Alaska where they spent 10 plus years as Alaskan residents. Being sick of the cold, he finally decided to move his family to Kansas City, Kansas in 2013.
Nhia Tou is survived by his children, his grandchildren, his wife, and his mother. He was welcomed in death by his father and son.
He was a loving Husband, Brother, Father, and Grandpa to all the relatives and friends he had made along his life who will continue to celebrate his life after he is gone.
His sendoff will be held at the Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, from 8am on Saturday, February 8th through Monday, February 10th at 10:00 am. Services will be held 24 hours each day until his departure on Monday.
