Mildred Ward

Mildred “Mimi” Ward, 93, Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away July 12, 2010 at J. Knox Village Care Center. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 with burial at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Village Hospice, 400 NW Murray RD. Lee’s Summit, MO 64081. Mildred was born August 9, 1916 in Kansas City, KS. She was a native of Kansas City, and was active in ballroom dancing in her 70’s. She enjoyed being a member of a small group of senior female tap dancers that performed for senior citizens in the metro. Preceding her in death were her husband Forrest Ward and son James T. Ward. Survivors include sister, Cora Lee Matsui, Hilo, HI, niece Saundra Foster, Overland Park, KS, and nephew Bryan Foster, York, SC.
