BARRON Mildred Elizabeth (Betty) Schlotzhauer Barron, 84, of Shawnee, KS, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2008. The visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21st at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 22nd at the chapel, followed by inurnment in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Shawnee, KS Memorial donations may be sent to Woodland Ridge Presbyterian Church, 13030 W. 87th Street, Suite 101, Lenexa, KS 66215 or the Kansas City Hospice House. Betty was born on September 4, 1923 in Kansas City, KS to Paul and Helen Mayor Schlotzhauer. She graduated in 1944 from the Trinity Lutheran School of Nursing in Kansas City, MO. She finished her career at the Humphrey Cancer Clinic in the breast cancer detection unit. Betty leaves her husband of 64 years, Donald H. (Arky) Barron, a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Lynn Olson, Lawrence, KS; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Gary Rose, Parker, KS; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Kim Barron, Kansas City, MO. She also leaves her beloved 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Betty was a member of Woodland Ridge Presbyterian Church in Lenexa, KS.
