Michele Ann Marsh Divine, beloved mother, daughter, sister and dear friend, passed away November 8, 2008 at her home in Shawnee, KS.
Michele was born September 17, 1948 in Honolulu, HI, the daughter of Louis E. and Mary A. Marsh. She was the third of six daughters. Her childhood was spent in Norfolk, VA and she graduated from Norfolk Catholic High School in 1966. She attended St. Mary’s College in Leavenworth, KS.
Michele joined TWA as a flight attendant in 1970. She rose to the rank of Senior Purser and was head of international flight crews. She traveled the world extensively and loved meeting people. She enjoyed spending time at the beach. Michele was a member of the Rime Temple in Kansas City, MO.
All who knew Michele were touched by her graciousness, her elegance, her kindness and her quick wit. Above all, Michele was a devoted mother to her daughter, the late Amanda Divine. We rest in the comfort of knowing that mother and daughter are eternally together in the light of peace and love.
Michele is preceded in death by her father, Louis E. Marsh, Jr. and her daughter, Amanda Michele Divine. She is survived by her mother, Mary Marsh-Newsome, her sisters, Mary Picken, Patricia Rivenbark, Theresa Porter, Christina Heavner and Kathleen Stenvers, and her daughter, Mary Kay O’Brien Caragher.
Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be 1-2:00 P.M. Thursday at the chapel prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to Community Support Services, Johnson County Mental Health Center, 6440 Nieman Road, Shawnee, KS 66203.
