Michael E “Mike” Shartzer, 74, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2017. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Ellis and Eva Shartzer. He loved his friends, the KC Chiefs, KC Royals, KU basketball, the CYO, 3 & 2 Leagues, Shawnee Mission North, the City of Roeland Park, the view from his lake home, but most of all, his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 ½ years Kathy; brother, Bill (Jamie); sons, Mike Jr. (Amy), Pat; daughter, Katie; seven grandkids, Michael III (Anna), Laura Beth (Spencer), Malorie, Kale, Sam, Kyle, Ena Blanche; three great-grandkids, Hayley, Emerson Louise, Brody Michael; and one great dog, Mooney Sue.
A visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday, January 29th at the Overland Park Funeral Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. A funeral mass will be 11:00 am Monday, January 30th at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 5250 Mission Rd., Roeland Park, KS.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contribution donations be made to the Sisters, Servants of Mary, 800 N 18th St., KC, KS or St. Agnes Catholic Church, Roeland Park.
