Michael Joseph Dickerson, 57, of Raymore, MO, passed away November 18, 2010, at Menorah hospital. Funeral services will be Wednesday November 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS. The family suggests contributions be made to Mike’s favorite charity: St. Judes Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Tribute # 26862977, Memphis, TN 38148.
Michael was born January 17, 1953 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from Avila University. Mike worked many years at General Tire. He also worked at Dixon Foods, Heartland Retreaders and Superior Bowen before he was taken ill. Mike loved fishing, hunting, and sports. His favorite music was country. He was a great dancer. Mike was charismatic and had a great sense of humor. A heartfelt thank you for all the doctors and nurses at Menorah Hospital, Overland Park, KS, that treated Mike for the past 3 years. Mike we are going to miss you.
Mike is survived by his parents, Farrol and Florine Dickerson, his daughter, Rhea McFarland (Mike), his grandson Ethan McFarland, 5 brothers; Richard Dickerson (Barbara), Timothy Dickerson (Julie), Randall Dickerson (Pearl), John Dickerson (Shari), Douglas Dickerson (Susan) 2 sisters; Mary Harris (Jim) and Paula Stringfellow (Bill) and 14 nieces and nephews.
