Melvin L. Degn, 81, Shawnee, KS, passed away April 17, 2016 at home. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m., followed by Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 22 at Nall Avenue Baptist Church, 6701 Nall Avenue, Prairie Village, KS. Inurnment at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Contributions may be made to the church or Kansas City Hospice.
Melvin was born September 16, 1934 in Trousdale, OK. He was an Engineering Manager for AT&T until retirement in 1989. He was a member and Deacon at Nall Avenue Baptist Church, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many who will miss him dearly. He is survived by: Marilyn Kaye (Jobe) Degn, wife of 61 years; daughters, Lisa A. (Jeff) Stokes and Kerri L. Michael; son, Gregg A. Degn; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
