Melba Mae Pitney, 89, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 9th at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Columbia, MO. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 8th at the D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care.
Melba loved to play Bridge, bowl, and golf. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter M. Pitney. Survivors include two daughters: Julie Thompson, and Gwen Stueve; 6 granchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
