MaryJosephine Rahatz

MaryJosephine Rahatz, 88, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away March 7th, 2015 at the Saint Luke’s Hospice House. MaryJo was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her parents, John and Hulda Moxley; brother, David and niece, Martha. She is survived by sister-in-law and best friend, Dorothy Moxley, nephew John, and great niece and nephew, Caroline and David. Maryjo, a graduate of the University of Kansas, remained a loyal and avid Jayhawk basketball fan. She went on to earn her Ph.D. from the University of Missouri of Kansas City. A lifelong educator, Maryjo’s passion for reading and education made her an integral teacher, principal, and administrator for the Shawnee Mission School District. Graveside services will be 1:30pm, Friday, March 13th at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Atchison, Kansas.
